CADAC CONSOLES OPENS UP OPPORTUNITY FOR EXPANDED WORKFLOWS WITH OSC SERVER INTEGRATION IN CM-J50

In integrating Open Sound Control (OSC) server within the CM-J50 console OS, Cadac Consoles is expanding ‘the reach’ of its CM-system ecosystem; opening up the possibility of native control of third-party products.
“As a platform, we’ve used OSC internally for some time to manage control our SR-series racks and the CM-Monitor app,” explains Emily Watson, Head of R&D, “It is also the control protocol for our new CM-RT12 MegaCOMMS router. Opening it up for wider integration is the natural next step.
“We are already working with a number of major brands on what that could look like. Our objective is to bring potential third-party integration straight onto the CM-J50 console’s 23-inch touch screen in a way that feels both familiar and effortless.”
The move strengthens Cadac Consoles’ focus on open, flexible workflows, providing a route to deeper pan-industry integration. “Alongside enabling the console to communicate with external devices, OSC support also creates the potential for CM-System components to be controlled by third-party platforms, widening options for system designers and installers,”states Director of Marketing and Business Operations, James Godbehear.
Support for Open Sound Control and exploration of the Audio Definition Model (ADM) are part of Cadac Consoles’ continuing development strategy for wider system integration. OSC server integration is projected to be included in the upcoming CM-J50 V3 software update; together with CM-RT12 router control.
